About Abstract Submission

The following guidelines are provided for reference. All accepted abstracts were presented at the XVI European Congress of Hypnosis in Antalya, October 26–29, 2023.

Word Limit

Maximum 300 words, excluding title and author information.

Language

All abstracts must be submitted in English.

Structured Format

Abstracts should follow the structured format: Background/Aims, Methods, Results, Conclusions.

Presentation Types

Oral: 10 minutes presentation + 5 minutes discussion
Poster: Standard A0 format display

Topic Areas

Abstracts were accepted across the three main congress topic areas:

Medicine

Hypnosis for pain management, oncology, psychosomatic medicine, psychiatry, anxiety disorders, trauma, pediatrics, self-hypnosis, and wellness.

🦷

Dentistry

Dental anxiety and phobia, hypnotic analgesia, oral medicine, oral surgery, bruxism, and temporomandibular disorders.

🧠

Psychology

Psychotherapy and counseling, CBT integration, habit control, sports psychology, Ericksonian hypnotherapy, and research methodology.

Re-submission Note

Abstracts that were submitted to the ESH 2020 Basel Congress (which was unfortunately cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic) were eligible for resubmission to the 2023 ESH Congress in Antalya. The scientific committee welcomed these resubmissions and reviewed them alongside newly submitted abstracts.
